On Tuesday, September 8, Jošt Franko’s solo exhibition “Nicht Fallen” was opened to the public in the Gallery Kresija. The goal of the exhibiton is to use mediums of photography and found objects to show the forgotten places, communities and individuals scarred by wars in former Yugoslavia. The central piece of the exhibition is a frame held together by a black tape with the inscription “nicht fallen”. In that frame is a picture of Hazira Đafić holding a cutting of the obituary of her brother Merfin, who was killed after stepping on a mine not far from the refugee centre ten years after the war. Hazira’s story testifies to the fact that violence and conflicts persist even when the wars are formally over.
BITE of Art has taken an active part in the preparation and implementation of this exhibition. All visitors will have a chance to use their smartphones to download the free BITE application and use it to interactively explore displayed art pieces and stories behind them.
The exhibition is open every day from 10h till 18h in Gallery Kresija. Visit it and experience the unique mix of contemporary art and technology powered by the BITE of Art.
The project “BITE of Art” is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
